I apologizes for the lack of additions recently. I am afraid I have been facing some health issues recently. I am fine, but I don’t have the energy to put into this blog right now. I will keep it up and if I decide to start adding things again I will post about it here. I still love Saiunkoku and am sad to leave things the way they are, but right now this is what I need to do.

Thanks for reading this blog, and thanks for understanding.

What’s Next

So now that I am done with these epic sagas, what is next? First, I am taking a break. Some time in April I will probably start working on character pages again, adding new ones and updating the old ones. I will also go back and try and fix formating in the earlier epic sagas. Any time a manga comes out in the states you can expect a review here. If the light novels ever come out in English, I will also do reviews or summaries of those. If not, I may do a general impressions post based on summaries and translations I find of the light novels. If there is a third season within the next couple years, I will do epic sagas of those as well. I may or may not do some lyric translations. We’ll have to see how ambitious I get since I know very little of Japanese. If I ever get inspired for more essays or fun things, I will add those. As always, if there is something you would like to see here in the archives, let me know and I will see what I can do.

Thank you for sticking with me for so long!

Saiunkoku Manga #2

So in this volume, we get the whole story about Shuurei being kidnapped. Interesting that it has events in a slightly different order. Only after these events does Ryuuki confront Seiran about really being his long-lost older brother Seien. And yes, half the cast knows who Seiran is by now^^; Also, it is Sou-Taihou who finds Sieran, not Shuuei. The disappearing items is brought more to the forefront. And at the end is a cute extra showing something of how Shouka and Ryuuki first met^^; I am curious at this point, though, whether the manga follows the light novels or anime more closely. Given the fact that the author and artist are the same for the light novels and manga, I suspect those two are the most similar, but I could be wrong. We haven’t seen Ryuuren yet, but I imagine he will very shortly. Gotta love Ryuuren, about the only person in the world who can annoy Shuuei^^; (Yes, I know Shuuei has issues with his older brother(s) and sister-in-law, but I wouldn’t call his reaction to them exactly being annoyed.)

Episode #73
